Sacramento Valley Chapter President

The President shall supervise, direct, and serve as the Executive Officer of the chapter.  It is the President’s responsibility to provide leadership, to exercise general supervision over chapter activities, and to conduct chapter affairs in accordance with the chapter bylaws and/or operating policies.  The President shall maintain contact with all officers, directors, and committee chairs and with members of the chapter by means of letter, email, telephone, or personal contact. The President will coordinate and attend board meetings and annual retreats.

Sacramento Valley Chapter Secretary

The Secretary shall keep accurate minutes of all Board or business meetings of the association including recording what was said and done.  He/she shall maintain an accurate historical record in archives established by the board and will also work closely with the President.  He/she shall monitor Board discussions and make motions when appropriate to facilitate decision making. The Secretary will attend board meetings and annual retreats.

Sacramento Valley Chapter Treasurer

The treasurer shall keep and maintain or cause to be kept and maintained, adequate records of accounts of the properties and business transaction of the chapter, including accounts of its assets, liabilities, receipts, disbursements, gains, losses, capital, retained earnings, and other matters customarily included in financial statements. The books of account shall be open to inspection by any board member at all reasonable times. The treasurer will provide quarterly reports to the board of directors.

The treasurer shall deposit, or shall cause to be deposited, all money and other valuables in the name and to the credit of the chapter with such depositories as may be designated by the board of directors; shall disburse, or cause to be disbursed, the funds of the chapter as may be ordered by the board of directors; shall render at such regular meeting of the board, or at such other times as directed by the board, an account of his/her transactions as chief financial officer and of the financial condition of the chapter; shall prepare or cause to be prepared a proposed annual budget to be presented to the board of directors prior to the annual membership meeting; and shall have such other powers and shall perform such other duties as may be prescribed by the board of directors or the bylaws.

Sacramento Valley Chapter President Elect

The President Elect shall prepare to take on the office of the presidency to perform such duties as delegated by the Board.  The President Elect shall perform the duties of the President in the event the President is unable to serve or is absent and shall also function as a President in training.  He or she shall begin formulating plans for his/her term during his/her tenure as President Elect. The President Elect will attend Board meetings and annual retreats.

Sacramento Valley Chapter Members At Large

The Member-at-Large is a liaison between members and the Board, bringing concerns verbalized by members to the Board for follow up. This person is able to provide a historical perspective to the Board regarding growth and needs, as well as, views of the membership and is committed to serving the common business interest of the membership. During meetings the Member-at-Large will interact with members and introduce new members to other members as well as Board members. The Member-at-Large will answer questions by members as needed and assist other Board members as needed with their jobs. The Member-at-Large will attend Board meetings and annual retreats.

Sacramento Valley Chapter Program Chair

The Program Chair contacts and arranges for presenters to speak at chapter CEU monthly meetings and/or chapter sponsored workshops.  He/she collects curriculum vitaes and topic outlines from presenters.  The Program Chair facilitates the presentations at monthly meetings. The Program Chair retains records as required by the Board of Behavioral Sciences including sign-in sheets and provides CEU certificates to event participants.  The Program Chair informs the Newsletter Editor and Website Maintainer of upcoming trainings at least 30 days in advance. The Program Chair may form a committee when needed to assist with these activities. The Program Chair will reach out to other agencies, groups, and persons in order to facilitate affiliations that promote the MFT profession. The Program Chair will attend Board meetings and annual retreats.

Sacramento Valley Chapter Co-Hospitality Chairs

Co-hospitality chair(s) is responsible for the registration for meetings and if agreed upon trainings. Co-hospitality will coordinate food, materials, and equipment as needed at registration desk and to support the needs of the meeting. Co-hospitality chair(s)  is responsible for collecting and transferring of monies collected at meetings.

Sacramento Valley Chapter Pre-Licensed Chair

The Pre-Licensed Chair serves to represent the views and concerns of interns and trainees.  This person must be a registered intern and a member of SVC-CAMFT and must be confirmed by the Board.  The Pre-Licensed Chair contacts and arranges for presenters to speak at chapter pre-license meetings.  He/she collects curriculum vitaes and topic outlines from presenters. The Pre-Licensed Chair meets with other interns and trainee members of the chapter at monthly pre-licensed meetings and reports back to the Board any concerns interns and trainees would like the Board to address. The Pre-Licensed Chair will attend Board meetings and annual retreats.

Sacramento Valley Chapter Membership Chair

The Membership Chair shall inform members of annual dues, receive monies, and transfer said monies to the chapter Treasurer.  He/she will oversee the publication of a chapter directory and monitor the chapter website directory. The Membership Chair shall receive and respond to referrals from others on becoming a member. The Membership Chair is responsible for establishing a Membership Committee when and where necessary to assist with carrying out these duties and shall be responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of that committee as well as reporting to the President.  The Membership Chair will attend board meetings and annual retreats.

Sacramento Valley Chapter Newsletter Editor

The Newsletter Editor coordinates and produces the various aspects of publication of the newsletter. The newsletter is one of the main methods that SVC-CAMFT members and prospective members stay in contact with the latest information, meetings, and advertisement related to the mental health field. It is published once a month except for the months of  June, July, and December. The Newsletter Editor sets deadlines for newsletter article submissions (the 25th of each month) to people interested in posting an article. The Newsletter Editor works closely with the Administrative Assistant to coordinate the printing of the newsletter and having the newsletter announcement sent out on the listserve. The Newsletter Editor works closely with the Database Controller and Administrative Assistant to verify membership of individuals posting ads. The Newsletter Editor posts announcements, letters, or notices received by other board members or members of the chapter. The Newsletter Editor posts completed newsletters on Sacramento Valley Chapter website. The Newsletter Editor will promote members and non-members to advertise in the newsletter. The Newsletter Editor will attend Board meetings and annual retreats.

Sacramento Valley Chapter Trauma Response Chair

The Trauma Response Chair oversees, prepares, and promotes member participation in disaster
mental health and crisis response within the community at large, by providing members with educational opportunities, materials, and resources; thus assuring that members are properly prepared and trained to help during times of crisis or disaster and helping to diminish
the effects of disasters/critical incidents. The Trauma Response Chair will attend Board meetings and annual retreats.

The Board of Directors for the Sacramento Valley Chapter of CAMFT shapes the chapters policies and programs and has a stake in shaping the chapters future as well as the individual members who benefit from the chapter. Each board member takes great pride in focusing on relationship building with clients, members, and the community.
